Summer time is approaching and why not introduce your little one to easy breezy summer camps. The North Shore has great activities for the little ones to have some fun with their little buddys while mom or dad have a couple (or may be more) hours to go for a run, go grocery shopping or simply, enjoy a little me time.

Of course we are absolutely crazy about our little ones, but keeping a preschooler from climbing the walls while many times trying to nurse a baby can wear out even the most dedicated parent.

What are we to do?

Day camps are the answer to this riddle! There are great camps that will nurture and keep your kid happy while teaching him important social skills .

Our Drop-In camps are a great alternative if you are nor ready to commit for a full week. Keep in mind that most of these camps just run for a couple of hours a day, the right amount of time to get to the grocery store…

The first time I saw  my son leaving for a summer camp, it broke my heart. Despite having raised him as an independent young boy, the thought of not being close to him in case he needed me was pretty scary.

He is a tough kid when he needs to be – but he is also a warm and lovely soul that still lets me cuddle up in bed with him to read books or enjoy a good movie on the weekends.

The amazing thing about summer camps though is the amount and quality of attention every child receives. So much so that the kids don’t really have much time or need to miss home! It helps them tremendously with their confidence and it’s amazing to see how grown up they look when they come back. It’s an experience that every kid should be given. The bonds of friendship they acquire during such a short period of time (although it seemed longer to me) and the memories they create are for a lifetime and an invaluable and absolutely  necessary building block  in their foundation.

We all know how great Whistler is to us during those long, long winter months. The skiing is second to none and the camps for the kids are just amazing. But did you know that Whistler is even better in the summer months? Not just they have great Mountain Biking but the camps for kids are just amazing, ranging from tennis to water activities, and of course, there is lots and lots to do for the adults while the kids are at the camps.

So make sure to check the summer camps in Whistler, it’s really a paradise up there ;0
